Busy Busy Busy....

That is what I am at the moment....lots of scrapbooking to do....I have been working on the Christmas Card workshop for Papermaze over the last few days...three cards to make in an evening. Now considering that I have not made cards for ages I was pretty happy with how they turned out!

But yesterday I gave myself a few hours off of scrapbooking work ( still have another workshop to plan , scrap and write up) and made this....I have a ton of butterflies in my Cameo files and this time I was really going to use them.

The other day Lilith posted this page on her blog....it is stunning.... I loved the idea of the big number, the photo arrangement...so I used those ideas and came up with this!

this is to go into my All about me book that I have been slowly making over the years.

I don't have much cardstock in my stash...so I was pleased to find this really bright blue hiding in the back.

I really need to pick up another pack of those stars...I have nearly used up all the ones I have got! I will be back in a few days with a page using the October kit from Papermaze...and we have a new design team member to introduce as well!

Feeling better....

This weekend was a  quick trip up to Scotland on a plane...( which I hate flying) with a little boy who was fine until we got on the plane and then his temperature spiked and he was ill the whole weekend....for a surprise 70th birthday party. I am ready for a quiet week...which has not happened!!! lol...

Anyway I have finally got around to finishing a page that has been sitting around on my desk for the last week..and due to having to do extra days at work ( booo!) I have no only just got it finished.

For a while the comments about me being a 'one trick pony' and I should 'up my game' used to bother me....spending hours trying to make my pages into something different every time...but I have realised ( i may have said this before) that I am more comfortable with my 'normal' line of photos that I always use....and to be honest I really struggle to scrap out of it...so i may be a one trick pony...but this pony is happy doing my pages looking the same lol!!!!

Anyway...here is the page...

Not the colours that I would normally use...in fact the totally opposite ....it just turned out that way!

I only had two photos of me when I was pregnant...the one with me in it was taken on the morning that we went to find out what the sex of the baby was....and the other one I have no head!!! lol...

I don't think I have shared what my pregnancy was like on here....to say I am not the person to talk to when you are a first time pregnant person is an understatement...but I am still going to do a page about this time in my life and the years of problems after...but I just couldn't put the words on the paper just yet even after 9 years.

Workshops...

It has been nearly a year since the huge fire that burnt the stock room and some of the shop down at Papermaze. It has a been a long year of putting everything back together, working out the new space etc.

Finally we are ready to get the workshops up and running again.
Mine have not changed...they are still being held on a Wednesday evening at 7.30pm. These are really relaxed...we make a page, drink tea and eat chocolate. I use all the latest lines and basically have lots of fun...this is for all scrapbookers, for those of you who have been scrapping for ages or for you beginners who want to learn the basics.

These start again in October and the first two dates are...10th and 24th October. You have to email me ( wendy@bbbweb.com) to let me know you would like a space...even if you are one of the girlies that used to come, so we can gauge how many kits to put together and how much interest there is in the workshops. I hope to see you there!

I am here...waves!!!!

It has been a killer of a week...school has re started and that means that as I work at my sons school I finally went back to work as well.....not much scrapping goes on when you have a term of art classes to plan! lol...

But I was off all day on thursday and after a quick trip to Papermaze to grab some stuff I finally had a chance to sit down and attempt to scrapbook....and when I say attempt I mean attempt.

I have spent some time in there in the last few weeks and managed to create nothing....cut up alot but created nothing. But I had to make something for the Papermaze blog so i went in closed the door and just tried.

So today I am going to share with you what I made....I picked up lots of different sheet of the new Echo Park Lines...this page is going up next week on the blog...along with the dates for the workshops that are going to re start again in October.

sorry , for some reason Flickr...which is where i upload my photos to for this blog....has made the colours off and a bit blurry? and has given my boys some really shiny heads!!!! lol

I have really loved using Instagram on my phone, but the quality of the photos is not always the best, especially indoors...so these ones i do tend to convert to black and white...just seems better that way...

something pretty...

I uploaded another page on my art journal blog....i am not sure why but i am finding it much easier to spend time on this at the moment...I don't seem to be able to switch from one way of working to the other. It really is confusing my scrappy brain at the momet....anyway here is a little sneak of what i made....

ugh...and ugh....

When I have stepped away from scrapbooking for a while..ie like going on holiday....i always find it hard to get back into. I print my photos, gather the papers I am going to use ( something I always do first) and sit....and sit and sit...please tell me I am not the only one that this happens to?
I find it really difficult to get back into making anything....also the whole 'art journal' using paints and stamps...is confusing my scrapbooking brain.

I tried to mix the two styles....and i failed.......bit time...i ended up with a big fat mess and a horrible page that just looked terrible.

So after hours and hours of sitting there staring...I gave up...started again ...and still struggled.

I find that , the first page that I make, coming back from a break is terrible....don't get me wrong i love bits of it...in fact i love all the bits of it, just not when you put it together....

and another part...

this is my first time using one of my instagram photos....and my first push towards not using black and white photos...

I finally used an October Afternoon sticker...love them...have loads but never use them....I even used the same flower technique as i used on my art journal.

 I even stamped out and used some butterflies............i love all these images....but when you put them together...and show the whole page...the illusion is shattered....

If i hate it that much ..why i am showing you? Well i always say to other people...it doesnt matter..just show the page...so i had to take my own advice huh!

my next page will be better.....they always are.
