Morning all...I don't know about you...but in the little part of the UK where I live the weather has turned and it is cold. :( I am not a winter person...it makes my back and knees ache even more then the rest of the time of year.
I finally have an appointment at the hospital to see a consultant about my hands this week...so I will update when I have news. It feels good to finally be doing something permanent about them.
Anyway on to scrappy things....sketches..
Love them or hate them? I have tried and tried...I was even on a sketch design team for a while...but I had to leave.
So I think you can put me in the hate them category...but I not one who gives in...so I decided to sit down and just go with it and see what I could do.
There are many people out their who ROCK sketches....a lady who I added to the Papermaze design team the other day to take over the sketches....her name is Tracee you can find her blog here - Tracee ..someone else who does amazing work with sketches is a lady who I have a link to on the side of my blog....you can find her blog here...You and me crazy.
On my Pinterest boards I have a board named Sketches...so I finally decided to have a go at one...I choose this one...
I was not thrilled about doing all the strips...all the way down...so I changed it up a bit...but here is what I came up with.
But the ones that I decided to add in, I changed up a bit...I added some banners, some bigger blocks of paper...some small hearts which I cut out using my Cameo machine and some punched edge borders...just to give it a bit of extra detail...oh and I added some banner ends as well.
I alternated between strips of paper ( of different colours) to a larger block in the middle as a better base for my photos.
I am enjoying using the fold over Polaroid embellishments...I have been trying to make these for myself using the Cameo....but when I was at Papermaze I was rummaging though a box ( just don't tell Ness) of new stuff that had come in and found the smaller ones!!! they are divine...so am going to grab some of them when they are out of the box and actually ready to buy lol!!!!
This photograph was taken on our holiday in France this year...I drew this in the sand and had it as the screen saver on my phone for ages.
I have chosen my next sketch and am off to work on it. See you later x

I much prefer your version! I love all the little details and the muted colours.
Excellent job! I'm on the other side of the spectrum...I love sketches! I found them hard and not fun to work with at first, but then I got the hang of them. You rocked this one Wendy! Beautiful job on your layout!
i'm not a fan of sketches. they just don't make sense to me. i prefer to just "do my own thing". your lo is very nice.
you did an excellent work and I must dissagree about sketches... they really get my Mojo going... good thing it is OK not to think the same :)
This is fabulous Wendy, I adore the layers you have created in this one!!!
I think you've done a gorgeous job with the sketch.
I find sketches are great for starting points and then off I go and make the layout my own.
luv

you've taken a sketch and made it your own....a beautiful layout. Sketch's are great for a starting point i find - but can never stick to them!
