White space and paint...

My next quest into the realms of unknown scrapbooking was...white space. Something that I do not do. Any time I have tried it, i just did not like the emptiness around the photos...but then I started to experiment with inks and paints, and that ( I think) is the answer to how it works so well for some people.

Today I have been at Papermaze...sorting out the August kit. We had already put one together, but due to item dates for bits being in stock have been pushed back, we had to re do it all. So I can show you one of the pages that I made from the original kit.

I really tried on this page to add the splatters that are so 'in' right now and I tried for the white space...honestly...I need your opinion...

After playing around with both mists and paints, I am leaning towards using paints. The mists spread out a bit while they were drying which I did not like. But the paint was better...also then with a light touch i could add the splotches to a specific place that I wanted them to go......so much better for a control freak like me! lol...

I am totally loving that Picasca now has the capability to make the Polaroid shape for your photos...much better than me figuring it out on my own!!!

I now have a few days to work with the new August kit....see you later x

i find the oa sprinklers better than glimmermists for the splats... but paint is good too!

Love. Paint is a great option to mists and the finish is very different. Love the colours you used!!!!

Lovely colours, really pop on the white! I like it, but you know I am partial to mist!

You go girl. You rocked this style. Gorgeous page! I love everything about it! The photos, the pops of colour, the details, splatters and of course... the butterflies.

I really love it, it wonderfull! I love the splatters of paint, the foto's, the white on white, the SPACE! You asked an honest opinion, for me all the empty space is great, the only thing that seems a bit too empty to me is the space below the foto's. Hope you get what I mean. But, hey, that's me criticizing on a LO that's WAY more beautyfull then anything I ever did (and will?) create, lol!

Juisie....i agree...in hindsight i should have not hidden away my journaling and added it there. This is the first time i have done that, not sure if i will do it again.

Honestly? I think you worry too much! As youve said pages are for you and no one else (must take my own advice here! lol)

I can hardly scrap anything else other than white space and clean lines...it kills me!! but Im learning to live with it lol

You are you and you scrap how you scrap...personally I love your pages :)
