A little something...

The one time i even get the chance to sit down and read a book is when i am on holiday...there really is no other time...by the time i get into bed every night i am shattered....so my eyes close as soon as my head hits the pillow...

So as my holiday is drawing near...i am collecting all my books together...new and old...new ones like Karin Slaughter ( love her books!)

So when i read books...i need a bookmark...now normally i would just fold over the pages of the page that i am on, but my son has told me not to do that so i had to make myself a bookmark...so i thought i would share it with you...

It is all made out of the gorgeous Peachy keen line from American Crafts...
Here it is...

I made the heart first and then sewed it onto a piece of felt...

And some close ups...
I used two strips of ribbon to make it a bit stronger...and then at the end  i sewed them together down the edges...

It also meant that the flower brad from pebbles ( which i had left over from the swap) was secure at the back and not going to fall out.

I really enjoyed making this!!!!! I can see me making some for birthday presents in the future!

A jillibean giveaway...

Morning all...today i have some photos of some homemade embellishments made with different bits of Jillibean soup supplies...Okay here we go...

I make these all the time...and they are really easy to make....Basically i adhere lots of strips of pattern paper one under each other....i then punch out the shape from this...do it this way instead of punching out the shape first and then adding the paper after.
I use these all the time for tags for wrapping paper...i normally use brown wrapping paper to wrap presents and these little tags give it a colour boost!

Quick and easy to make....I used the packs of papers for this project as the patterns are smaller.
Next up is my little pegs...

I found this little pegs in the children's arts and crafts aisle....they are perfect for hanging up photos or notes...I used a Martha Stewart punch for the butterflies...to make sure they adhere well, use a strong glue.

I used these on this project as well...

I am in love with the corrugated shapes and as you know i love butterflies so these are just meant for me...the ribbon embellishment is perfect as that added little thing to jazz up any butterfly...

I then punched out 3 of the Bigger butterfly shapes, doing three gives an embellishment like this dimension..i sewed the little cocktail sticks inside to make sure it doesnt come out.... these are perfect just to add to any page! I make these all the time, they are very quick and easy to make!I often make these with the little corrugated shapes as well...
I love making little notes and leaving them for people...one of the things i make these for are little notes to my son in his lunch box...you can find any shape you like by searching the internet!!! this one i added a little heart to seal it...

Last one is a wooden embellishment...do you have these? i find them in craft shops everywhere and they make perfect little embellishments...

the ones i get have holes in the top and make perfect little presents for people...i make my own to hang on my wardrobe doors!!!! such a fun look!

All of these are wrapped up in a little paper box...

and ready to be sent to the winner....i have also thrown in a few extra Jillibean bits and pieces to make it a nice pile....all you have to do is leave a comment about what sort of embellishments you like to make and i will draw a winner.....happy commenting!

I have a treadmill and an exercise bike at home now...but also love running outside around my town...i downloaded the couch to 5k app...which has really helped!

I will admit....

That i am still stuggling to find the passion in this hobby at the minute....it will come back,it always does...but at the moment i am finding any excuse to not be in my room :( anyone else feeling like this at the minute? Let me know how you got out of it!!!!

Today i am showing you a little tag card that went up on the Jillibean soup blog the other day...

It really is little!!! i tend to make little ones, for little girls ( not sure why) this one i have kept for a special occasion in a few months...

One of my fav things about Jillibean soup is the little corrugated shapes....and i wanted a different way to jazz them up without using paint or pattern paper...So i added a string of beads around it, just thread some beads and then wound it around, adhereing the beads as i went.

I have to say though my fav thing about this card is the little butterflies with the stitch marks on them...i will so be doing that again!!!!

Butterfly canvas

It has been a while since i have showed a butterfly project, so as i was getting withdrawal symptoms i thought i would sit down and make one!

I mentioned the other day that i bought 4 small canvases...i bought these from my local shop called 'The Range' ( yep again) i love that shop for cheap things to alter. These little canvas cost me the grand total of £1.99....

Here is what i made...

The canvas was white, but after putting it all together i realised that it was boring so i painted them to match the colours in the pattern paper that i was using....

and then inked all the edges with brown ink, i then also sprayed it all with gold glimmer mist, which you cannot see on the computer but in real life it looks so pretty!

Here are some more close ups...

I ran all the white squares though a Cuttlebug embossing folder...just to add some detail.

The hardest part of this project was getting the pins in the right place! to make sure they all hang straight....i am thinking about buying another 4 to make it bigger. All the supplies that i used in this project are the new line Margarita line from American Crafts.
