Zva Creative August DT Blog Hop

The Zva Designers are joining together today to share a project that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative http://www.zvacreative.com/index.html products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun again this month!

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog: http://paperhugs.typepad.com/paper_hugs/.  She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts now and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, August 31st and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 1st on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well (linked above). We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Here are a few of my most recent cards for Zva...

and here are some of my older ones that i have made...

The blog hop begins here: Kim Hughes http://paperhugs.typepad.com/paper_hugs/
Your next stop is here - Benedicte Raphalen ....http://benelun.over-blog.com

Thankyou so much for joining us.

Fancy a small give away?

I actually have two give aways for you today...one by me and one by fellow Scrapper Becky.

Okay my one first...as you know i have a love ( well actually a passion) for pins and decorating them...i made some the other day so i kept some out and have some for you...

I tried my best to take photos...there are 12 pins in total...i tried to get each of them from different angles...

You have until next Wednesday to leave a comment on this post to put your name in the hat...this is open to anywhere in the world.

Next give away is on Beckys blog...it is all to do with the University Classes over at the nook...so take a peek over there...I will be back 2m...hopefully..fingers crossed with something pretty to see!!!

I know...

Now normally you guys would be visiting me today to see a page or a card etc...well i am sorry but today there is none... :(

Not only did i suffer after having my wrist injected...which by the way has not seemed to work!!!!! grrrrr...i have also been suffering from a serious case of NO MOJO...the ideas that normally swamp my brain...all dried up...gone...and also i have been away all week in Scotland so i have had no access to my scrappy stuff.

I know this is only temporary ...give it a few days and it does come back...the ideas will come flooding into my head again..faster than i can normally do them...but i always feel like someone has taken away a part of me when that happens??? does that happen to you???

So no project for you today...but i am going to make up for that by having a give away this weekend...so come back sunday and i will have a little something for you...

There also seems to be some confusion about my new blog...the new one is just a personal one...there will be no scrapbooking on it...but this blog that you are reading now will still remain open for everyone to see..so this blog will stay the same...just hopefully have something on it to share with you lol!!!!!!

see you sunday x

Monday morning....

Morning all...okay today i have an altered folder for you...do you remember this...

I bought it at Paperchase...love that shop...i am going to use it for my fav photos...the bigger ones on the left will hold the photos and the smaller inserts on the right will hold journaling and pretty things!!! lol...

I finally got round to altering the front...unfortunately it is a classic case of what i had in my mind..didn't quite add up to  what actually happened to the front of the folder...

I get lots of emails from people saying that it is nice to see when i am not happy with things or things go wrong...lol...not sure why but anyway...here is the classic 'gone wrong'..

There are several things that i like about this...i love the overall effect of dimension...as you can see here in the next photo...

it has lots of layers on it...i lurvvvvvvvvve layers!!!

I love the individual components the ...the buttons the flowers etc...

I love all the glitter...

and i am in love with the see through buttons that you can see on the white flowers...i sooooo need to get some more of those...

But i backed myself into a corner...i wanted the whole thing to be covered...but after i completed the middle section i couldn't add anything else without it seeming out of place...or just plain wrong...so it is one of those things that are done...but hey it is okay for things to not work out the way you want them to...

I gave myself permission along time ago to make mistakes and not to have everything perfect...for a control freak like me that is huge!!!!! I may even sit down today and alter it some more!!!! if i do i will post the changes!...see you wednesday x

I want to do a page like this photo...individual squares...and i love the edging on this one.hmmmm....

Adore

A few months ago...i found this metal frame at a shop here in the UK called Dunelm...it was only £3.99, it had a paper picture of a chicken on it, but i just loved the frame...the gorgeous scrolls at the top.
It has taken me this long to think of what to do with it...it has sat on my desk...haunting me...but i couldnt think of anything...last nite...bang...the idea came to me...so here we go ( i forgot to take a picture of it without decoration on it..sorry)

Okay so i started with a square of Basic Grey basics paper...cornered the edges and adhered...

I then added a strip of brown spotty paper across the top...

I have acquired a new punch ( it is used for the Papermaze classes) and it is one that i have wanted for ages...so i used this and cut out a strip...using white card.

and added it so it just poked out the bottom of the brown strip....

I then added a big Jenni Bowlin card...with a butterfly clip, clipped on the top of it...
Here are the butterflies that i used on this project.

To add the bingo card i added lots of dimensional tape on the back as the clip lifted it up fairly high...i also added a strip of the same punch across the bottom.

Here is the frame so far...

I then added some photos of me!!!! and a green pattern paper butterfly, the pattern paper for this was Echo Park.

I then added another butterfly on top of this one and the word me...

I then added a ghost flower and a brown circle...

I then added some sequins...ohhhh i am loving sequins at the moment!!! across the bottom of the card...

and the frame is done!

Click on the image to get a better picture...

And now some close ups...

it is a bit embarrassing to have my picture with adore on it...lol but it was the only bingo card i had!!! lol...

In with the old...and onto the new...

Did you ever buy these???

i have had these in my collection for years... there has been time when i have wanted to throw them away...when they really have nearly gone in the bin...but yesterday i happened upon them and they reminded me of the Tim H ones that came out a few months ago...but for half the price!!!

So i challenged myself to use them...so that is how i started this layout...with these and no other idea in my mind...that is how i put most things together. I cannot just sit down and just start something without a thing or an idea of what i want to base the whole page around...

Okay... first i added some colour to them...i did it like this...choose my pattern paper that i wanted to use, in this case some Cosmo Cricket...and then cut out some small squares or strips...

i then added a small layer of wet glue around the bottom of the plastic discs...and adhered them on...

I then cut around the outside...i did this for all of them...and ended up with this!

Now tell me..how pretty do they look!!!! soooo cute it makes me smile!

So then after far to many hours of moving stuff around and taking stuff off...i came up with this page...

Can i ask a question? does the image look really blurry to you? i am having serious problems with uploading my pictures to blogger and them coming out blurry...thanks!

And some close ups...

hmmm...guess i will have to find something to challenge me know huh...
I feel like i have lifted my favourite scrapper on this page....check her out..she is a fellow dt member for the Nook and American Crafts and also designs for Bo Bunny and Jelly Bean Soup...that is an amazing list to design for huh!!!...you can check her blog out here... Becky.. and she is having a give away at the moment as well so go and leave a comment....come back on wednesday as i have another frame for you...see you then x
