Making a card - Zva Style

I just had to use some of the new Zva Creative gems that arrived last week...i tell you that box was stuffed full of beautiful things!!! I really enjoyed doing all the instructions on the Papermaze blog for my week on the blog this week ( which i have linked further down this post) so i thought i would carry it on here...
Hereis how i thought it would look...

First off i took a normal card and scalloped the edge with a scallop border punch. I then cut out a strip of pattern paper and adhered it to the bottom so you can just see a bit poking though...

I then cut out a rectangle from a sheet of the Basic Grey Basics and cornered two of the edges

and then added it to the card...

I then cut out several circles

one i added a text scalloped circle to the back...

I then punched out a flower using the retro flower punch ( fav punch ever!!!!)

I added a Zva crystal flower and a zva crystal dot to the centre for added sparkle!!!!

I then added the sentiment across the top...

I then got out a Jenni Bowlin token and a small punched flower and added them as well...

I added these to the left handside of the flower...

I then punched out another small flower and placed that on the other side of the flower..i added a smaller little gem onto the yellow flowers...and then punched out a small heart and added that onto the token over the heart that was there already...

i folded it in half to add to the effect.

I then added some small Zva pearls either side of the sentiment...

and volia the finished card!!!

Supplies used...

Pattern paper - Girls Paperie...Basic Grey Basics
Gems- - Zva Creative ( USA ) or Zva Creative here ( UK)
Token- Jenni Bowlin
Stamp sentiment- Chatterbox.

I am doing a week on the Scrap Paper Scissors blog this week...so pop along there everyday for somethings that are 'Pretty as a picture' today i am using the Girls Paperie line!

Sorting out...

I have been sorting my pins out this week...yep it has become a bit of an obsession!!!! and i will stop blogging about it soon!!!!

I didnt want them all in the little drawer that i had them in any more, due to pins sticking in me so i spent what seemed hours sorting them out...

I moved all my pins and my beads into bead wooden trays...the bead one looks a bit bare so i will need to do something about that soon!!! lol
( excuse my foot!!!)

I bought these...

the other day from here... now i must go on a bead hunt and find some more!!!!

As it is Bank Holiday monday and half term for lots of us next week...i decided to do a week special for the blog....titled Pretty as a picture ( that is if i get it all finished in time!!! ) 5 days of things that i think are pretty! I tell you, designing and making and photographing 5 projects takes a lot of time!!!

here is a sneek of one of the projects...

I am off now to make the last two!!!!!

Bits and Pieces

I have been asked a few questions via email and comments on other posts here in the last few weeks..

The letters from my Dunkin Donuts layout...these are Amercian Crafts chipboard letters...i bought them here... i have them in pink, white and red.

The little dots you can see on them are actually little hearts and they are gorgeous!!!! i have nearly run out and need to buy some more. Actually i loved them so much that the June workshops for Papermaze are done using the pink ones...

The pins...i have been enjoying making these..it is nice to make them to fit the page perfectly...i have been experimenting with the glue to get them to stick together...at the moment i have been using the Ranger glossy accents as it seems to hold the smaller ones together but at the moment i am struggling with the bigger ones...will keep experimenting...

As you may notice on the righthand side of my blog i have added some text about lifting my projects. It has been bought to my notice that people are coping my pages and passing them off as there own or not giving credit to where they got the idea from.
I have no problem with people lifting my work...i lift people all the time but as you will notice i always give credit as to where i get the idea from...so please credit.

I went shopping today...there is a wholesale place in a village near me...it sells flower arranging, catering, candles etc etc...so today i went and had a look around and found the following!!!
SOme gorgeous coloured twine!!!
The little stones that i used on this page

A closer look at the glass beads

I have been using mine so little as i didnt want to run out..so when i found these today i was one happy bunny!!!

i wish they had them in a multi coloured box, but i loved the blue so had to have that as well and for £3...for that many...i am happy. I plan on using them on some up coming Papermaze workshops.

Some small white pegs...i was looking for some for the heart wreath the other day and i found some today :)

and some more beads! because you know i have not enough already!!! lol

Also my box from Zva Creative turned up this morning.!!! wow! the whole box was full of bling!!!!! Tracy, Jacqui, Anita and Sarah can you imagine how big the smile on my face was when all that bling arrived!!!!!

Do you remember this???
Well i altered it....but....i am not happy...not sure why, i think it was the shape??? maybe a square frame would have been better...anyway here it is...

I used the pattern paper line girl friday from Cosmo Cricket as it is my fav line of all time!!!!!

I cut out the letters, ran them through the cuttlebug through the swiss dots folder. I then adhered them onto some transpareny to make it easier to adhere.

I added paper dolies behind the photos to frame them.

So...i need your opinion...please let me know what you think...what i can change to improve it???? or is it okay??? i am a big girl and dont take criticism to mean your are being horrible...this is a present for my mother in law and i want it to be perfect. I think i need to add some more stuff to the top half???

Slightly addictive

So you saw my pins collection....if not look here...

so my obsession with them has grown a wee bit...i am now making my own!!! and how how addictive it is!!!!

There is a small craft shop up the road from me....i dont go there much as it is full of decoupage stuff etc...but they do have one of the biggest bead collection around!! so i walked down there this afternoon and grabbed some stuff and together with some bits and pieces that i already had i started to make my own...

and because beads when bought seperatly can be fairly expensive i popped to Dunelm...there they had beaded edging that is supposed to be sewn onto a project...all i did was cut that up and volia loads of beads!!!

I used the normal beads i had already as the base for a few...

These where ( as you can see) very cheap...they come apart and they have the small hole in the middle so you can use them as well!!!!!!!!!! gorgeous stars!!!

Here are a few i made a little while ago...

Off to make a ton more!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes for the girlies that come to the workshops i will bring you some of the stars so you can have some!!!!!
see you later
