snowman soup....

Has anyone done this before...i came across it on one of my many blog hops that sometimes take me to weird and wonderful places!!!

Anyway i found this idea and went with it. We do secret santa where i work and we are only allowed to spend £5...so you have to be creative....so i dug into my December Nook kit and some other bits and got working...

For those of you that dont know what it is...it is this poem...

Snowman Soup
Was told you've been real good this year.
Always glad to hear it!
With freezing weather drawing near,
You'll need to warm the spirit.
So here's a little Snowman Soup
Complete with stirring stick.
Add hot water, sip it slow.
It's sure to do the trick!

I then decorated this jar....

and added some packets of hot chocolate, some marshmellows, chocolate buttons and a candy cane for stirring....

Much better than finding £5 little something that is no use to anyone...and i love it ...must keep it in my head for next year as well!!!

These arrived on my doorstep the other day....wooden houses ...
aren't they gorgeous...not sure what i am going to make with them yet though...i am thinking of a picture frame with them covered with gorgeous pattern paper...maybe a simpler one that i made the other day...and i am in love with these its a good job these things are not expensive huh!!!!!

I have a busy few days coming up...my dh and i volunteered to cook Christmas dinner for Harry's school... that is not as bad as it seems as there are only 29 children in the whole school but still a lot of potatoes to peel and cook!!!!!

COme back on friday and i will show you what i have made for my mother this year!

I love the idea - what a great poem and the jar is now gorgeous.

When I read peeling potatoes, I have to tell you "don't" peel. Buy red potatoes and leave the skins on. It's healthier and they are SO good. I mash them just like I mashed potatoes without skins.
